It is crazy to think that it’s almost Christmas! For many of us Christmas is a special time. It is a time to take a moment to reflect on the year that was and step back away from work and enjoy some much deserved time off. It also fosters the opportunity to get together with loved ones and it provides the best excuse to have fun in the kitchen and enjoy yummy food.
In light of this, we want to remind you that Christmas is about the smiles and absolutely not about the scales. We say ditch them – period!
Christmas is a time to enjoy those dishes that only get made once a year. It’s a time to let your tastebuds be delighted with sweetness of summer fruits like cherries and mangos. It’s a time to feel utterly blessed that you’re able to have a beautiful Christmas spread on the table. It’s a time to cherish the incredible people you’re sharing the day with.
When you think about it, in 10 years you’re not going to remember what the scale said, but you will remember the laughs you had, the stories that were shared and the wonderful flavours that you enjoyed as part of your Christmas spread.
We love that Christmas and in particular how the Christmas food brings us together. So, we wanted to share with you some of our favourite Christmas dishes from the KIC app – many of which will be making an appearance on our Christmas table this year! You can be rest assured that these dietician approved recipes are all bursting with flavour and will be an absolute hit across all ages.

Lime Chipotle Prawns with Roasted Corn Salad – in our head, prawns scream summer especially when cooked on the barbecue! We recommend popping your prawns onto skewers after they’ve been coated in the sauce if you’re planning on cooking them on the barbie.
Tofu & Pineapple Skewers with Green Papaya Salad – Perfectly salty and perfectly sweet, these skewers will be an absolute hit and are are so perfectly accompanied by a fresh and fragrant Vietnamese style salad.
Marmalade Ham – because is it really Christmas without a glazed ham?!
Spicy Roast Chicken – this is a super simple but delicious addition to any Christmas table which pairs perfectly with the following sides.
Grilled Chilli Butter Corn – a super simple but seriously delicious side. We love the charred flavour that the corn gets when cooked on the barbecue.
Pepita Rice and Date Salad – packed full of flavour this crunchy and sweet salad will be a hit!
Crunchy Roast Potatoes – these roast potatoes are the perfect side dish to accompany your Christmas meal, because let’s face it, who doesn’t love potatoes?!
